4 Stars - Film Noir, Mystery Romance - This classic begins with the most classic of lines "I want to report a murder, mine." While on vacation, Frank Bigelow (Edmond O'Brien) is the victim of a deadly poison. A doctor tells him that he only has a few hours to live, so goes back over his movements of the last 24 hours, ijn and attempt to identify his murdered. His secretary Paula (Pamela Britton), helps him trace a shipment of poison which leads to a gang of vicious criminals.

3 Stars - Film Noir, Mystery - Franchot Tone as a determined DA set on bringing to justice the gang that murdered his friend. He finds out that the gang has nazi leanings and that they're using Jean Wallace to bait him into a trap. The gang finds out that instead of helping them, she's actually helping the DA and they kill her. The DA sets out on the dangerous and difficult course of revenge.
